AIRFIELD LIGHTING MILITARY TRAINING

Airfield Lighting Military Training. Airfield Training Company (ATC) have been delivering AGL Military Training since 2016. We have conducted AGL military maintenance and compliance training for air forces and main airfield contractors in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada. We have worked with the UK MOD estates, Royal Saudi Airforce, US Airforce, Kuwait Airforce.

We have created a series of specialised training programmes designed for Military Airfields that includes an introduction to airfield lighting, an intermediate airside maintenance and an advanced level military design course.

Training Summary

  • To teach delegates the national standards for military airfield lighting systems.
  • To teach delegates AGL luminaire maintenance, AGL military compliance.
  • To teach delegates CCR maintenance including primary circuits, safe isolation procedures.
  • To teach delegates military AGL signage positioning and design.

WHAT IS COVERED

The Military Airfield Lighting Course teaches delegates the main safety principles when working airside on a military airfield. The training details the ‘Health and Safety at Work Act’ and the ‘Electricity at Work Act’ as applied to military AGL systems.

The standard training course is based on information provided in MOD publication, JSP554, JSP 375 chapter 3. However additional material is also taken from ICAO Annex 14 and any relevant national supplements.

AGL CERTIFICATION

On the successful pass of a final exam on day 5, successful delegates will receive an Airfield Training Company ‘Military Airfield Ground Lighting Course Certification’.

This course explains the main principles of Military Airfield Lighting Systems. The course demonstrates how AGL has progressed and reacted to the changing needs of modern military aircraft and airfields. This introductory level course explains the current design formats and layouts specifically for AGL military airfield lighting systems and their unique color and functions.

Delegates are taught the correct maintenance procedures and principles of maintaining efficient AGL lighting systems this includes sessions on how to set & site luminaires across several airfield locations.

The course additionally provides delegates with a unique opportunity to work with and comprehend MCS (control Systems), AGL Constant Current Regulators, Airfield Signage and AGL Primary & Secondary Circuits used across airfields; firstly, in a classroom and then in monitored practical sessions.
